Sounak Chattopadhyay is a foremost vocalist of the present generation and one of the most exceptionally versatile and learned ones in the business.

Trained under Kirana Gharana legends Ustad Mashkoor Ali Khansahab and Mubarak Ali Khansahab, in semi classical music under Vidushi Sanjukta Ghosh and in Rabindrasangeet under the legendary Swagatalakshmi Dasgupta and Pramita Mallick, Sounak has an understanding of the fundamentals of music that has not many equals.

From the pure and pristine traditional Hindustani Classical (Khayal) to new age experimental fusion music, he straddles the entire spectrum of music (Traditional art music to commercial entertainment), with consummate ease.

His unique trend setting blending of classical music and other forms of Bengali art music (Specially Rabindrasangeet) is a treat for the audience and shows his versatility as an artist. He is as much comfortable and a virtuoso in belting out evergreen songs of Mohd. Rafi, Manna Dey and Retro hits of the Golden age of Bengali and Hindi music.
